Beast was formed by Bryan Gregory after he left The Cramps. Active from 1980-1984, the band produced three singles of atmospheric dirges unlike anything produced by Gregory's former band. Members included Andrella Christopher on vocals, James Christ on bass, and Greg Langston on drums (an earlier lineup included Brian Macleod on drums for their first release, the Possessed 7" single).

Possessed b/w Wolfbane Nite 7" - 1982, Amdusias Records
Love In A Dying World b/w Floating/Dead 7" - 1983, Amdusias Records
New Moone b/w Guardian 7" - 1983, I.D. Records

Upon breaking up, several members of Beast relocated to the UK and rechristened themselves The Veil. Continuing in a similar fashion as Beast, the band centered around Andrella Christopher's haunting vocals and fascination with Egyptian imagery. Signed to Clay Records (best known for first signing hardcore legends Discharge), The Veil released a handful of singles and one LP before finally calling it quits. Members included Andrella Christopher on vocals, James Christ on bass, Andy Dakeyne on guitars, and Marcus De Mowbray on drums.

Manikin 12" - 1984, Clay Records
Surrender LP - 1985, Clay Records
Twist b/w Sway 7" - 1985, Clay Records
Heavy Heart 12" - 1986, Amdusias International Records

I have on Veil 12" which is good...old fart rumages through vinyl "Manikin". Goes back for Beast rumage....I have two Beast singles of the three, they are good, I would love to know what happened to Audrella, I liked her vocals, Bryan Gregory was great in Beast too.

I think a Beast myspace would be good to have to pay tribute and all.

OOOh me back is killing after all that bending down, must have a rest now.

I am in touch with the remaining members of The Veil, and my label "Curse of the Hearse Records" may very well end up reissuing both bands!

*Crosses fingers*

I really enjoyed The Veil's LP and would consider it well worth a purchase. What are the band members up to?

Why can't I edit my previous post in this forum, and why does it (my previous post) say that I am currently offline?

I have no idea. This thread is just acting weird; every post in this thread only, except for mine, is placed in the queue. I'll see what I can figure out.

Apparently not much. Andrella is unable to sing, sadly, so any reunion gigs or new tracks would not be happening.

Fingers crossed as well.
