Its been one of the goals of deathrock.com to make available music, both known and unknown, to deathrock fans or complete newcomers to the sound. Introducing the bands that are canon, as well as discovering more obscure artists well worth mentionining, and new bands who deserve a chance! Not only by writing about and linking to (even establishing a presence for them on the web!), but by offering a link to the CDs from online shops such as Amazon and the more independent Strobelight Records. Deathrock.com presents the Deathrock.com Shop! Every week we will present to you an Album worth owning. By Amazon.com you can buy the CD or download in just a few short clicks! By buying through Deathrock.com you are also supporting the site. So buy one for you AND a friend!

This Week's Deathrock.com Shop recommends:

Southern Death Cult: Southern Death Cult
Image

A classic and one of the first bands ever featured on deathrock.com. We're celebrating the opening of the Shop with this absolute must have. The music, the lyrics, the time and place, and the artwork.

This Weeks Recommendation:
Image

The Classic "Hell Comes To Your House" compilation, featuring Chiristian Death, 45 Grave, Social Distortion, Super Heroines and more LA punk (dark and fast!). ALSO AVAILABLE AS VINYL!

Yeah, im sticking with the obvious here, just to make sure the newcomers have a good foundation of albums to choose from. For the first months I'll be recommending the basics, so as to build an eventual store on Deathrock.com via Amazon, and start adding new stuff and more obscurities as times go by.

Recommendations to add to the list are welcome!

By the way, LAST WEEKS recommendation:

Image
Ausgang's "Last Exit" best of CD released by Cherry Red a few years ago, saw ausgangs first issue on CD and made their back-catalouge available to a new audience and generation of music buyers for the first time EVER! What a great label! Also includes Kabuki (Ausgang fore-runner single "I am a Horse" b/w "My Hair". This CD includes hits likr "Lick", "King Hell", "(You've Got The) Hots For Christ", "4 Tin Doors" and many more.

An absolute classic, cant recommend 'Only Theatre Of Pain' enough to start any collection. This weeks recommendation is Christian Death's debut LP/CD.

Deathrock.com Store Recommends this week:
Image

The Very Best Of Alien Sex Fiend! Another in my seroes of 'Classic Recommendations' while I build up a list of essentials to add to the amazon store. If you dont have this one or are new to ASF (Alien Sex Fiend), its certainly worth adding to your collection. Its the First in the 'Goth Collectors Series' that Anagram started putting together in 2001 to revive their line of gothic post punk releases. Which brought us Ausgang and Blood and Roses, 1919 and many more rarities on CD for the first time.

This week I recommend picking up something form Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. After seeing them play in Milan last week, I've been listening to them a lot lately and remembering how great songs like 'Hollow Eyes', 'Generation', 'Hand On Heart' and 'Head On Fire' are. This collections got a lot of great songs on it, and if you havent got it, this or the "Smashed Hits" compilations are a great introduction to the band, who still play a great show!
