Since we're starting to mix 'fringe bands' in the 'new goth/ DR bands thread,' I figured it would be best to keep that thread for more conventional bands and this one for the so called fringe bands.
Basically a fringe band is a group who plays a more amorphous, experimental, and or noisy type of coldwave, goth/ 'lo-fi goth' (heh) or DR. So get cracking!
A prime example would be a band Captain mentioned in the new goth/ DR bands thread, Pleasure Cruise (
http://www.myspace.com/pleasurecruiseatl). Great noisy 'goth band.'
Rules: 1. Other members need to chime in.
2. Don't turn this thread into a place to bash or criticize what other people like--we get it, you're a unique flower, etc. It is not only old, but some members and the mods have officially run out of tolerance with this kind of pompous douche baggery.
3. It may be difficult to avoid certain bands who cross into goth, or rest on the fringes of the genre, whether it be musically or aesthetically. Either deal with it or don't discuss it here. Your call.
4. With rule 3 said, try and stick with the spirit of OP's request.
5. Play nice.
Violators will have their posts deleted so stay on topic. Now onto the thread.
