MS: What was 2008 like for Joy Disaster? Where have you played? N: 2008 was the year of changes with some practices for the upcoming new album, we have a new guitarist with us for the stage "Simon" and songs are quiet more rock'n roll on stage but he only play in the new songs, not in songs from J.D. and Paranoïa albums. We have played in many countries from Europe and we met many nice people that we will probably meet again this year. In 2007 we played in places like Berlin, Paris, London, and the Drop Dead Festival in Prague. MS: Have you done any cover songs? JD: Just one. It was recorded It was recorded for a Joy Division tribute compilation, and we did 'Decades'. It was not to gain fans. But there were a lot of bands, and in the end our song was not on the compilation! MS: You also have a video that you are promoting on myspace and your website. Where did the video come from? JD: The video comes from a good friend who was in the USA for a visit, and he made a video with a mix of footage from a Joy Disaster gig and these video images of the USA. Its just for the promotion for the moment. He just put some images together like a daily 'Lobotomy' that people live every day. MS: Did you have some other ideas did that inspire you for other videos? JD: For the moment we haven't talked about new videos, but I would like to try one time, if we have the time and the money to make a video clip with this kind of old film image. MS: Do you have any specific drinks that you always drink, or is it whatever comes your way? JD: That's me, always. I like to drink yeah! For the last sessions, we drank beers. When we record we don't drink anymore, but just a french champagne without any alcohol, but its good! We love alcohol! But when we celebrate, we always try to celebrate before! MS: Whats some of your inspirations? Not specifically bands, but visual, musical, anything. JD: I think its especially musical. We work on music before the lyrics. And for the visual, yes, artwork. We always try to find some new sounds for the band, and the artwork and the lyrics come later, because I want to write the lyrics to the music and not before. MS: What's "The Light", in your words? JD: THE LIGHT is just the description about the actual world and the way that I will never choose for me... nothing in the actual world let me feel good but I don't to depend about all this shit... just wish to burn everything by and with myself. MS: Any bands living or dead that you could play a show with? MS: Where else can we expect to see joy disaster playing next? JD: Europe (Lithuania, Estonia, Lettonia, Russia, Germany, England, USA, Mexico, Poland, France... and maybe more). MS: What do you think is the next step for Joy Disaster? JD: Working for new songs, and actually writing new songs and getting them ready to be recorded for the next album. We'd like to have it this year. We want to play more gigs and have this kind of fun: "I want more!" ...
