Beginning in the early 1980s, as a split off project of the acclaimed yet obscure band Voodoo Church, Dave Grave, a deathpunk Hollywood scenester and artist, began Frankenstein, soon to be put on the backburner for bands 'The Screaming Things' and 'Bone Cult'. With only one vinyl appearance on 'VA: Punk Bites', Frankenstein has relied on their rare but legendary live shows, and their twisted propaganda illustrated by Dave Grave via the Mutoid Liberation Front. Their Millennial resurgence began with their performance at LA's (and possibly the world's) central deathrock haven, Release the Bats. That lineup included William Faith of Faith and the Muse, Jermz of Element and Ghastly Magazine, Steven Grey of Shadow Project, Mephisto Walz etc. with Bart Sinister on bass.
