Charles De Goal
Restructuration 2008
2008 Self Control

Charles De Goal has been blowing away live audiences over Europe in 2006, when their original album was reissued, 20 years after their dissolution. The amazing response and their rediscovery prompted a new studio album with all new songs, and has just been released. A very smart package and accompanying press pack booklet makes it even more droolworthy than the anticipation of the music alone.

Their signature clangy guitars saunter through the gruff vocals. Songs like Passion / Éternité are instant classics in post-punk discos across the globe. They maintain a steady attack of angstful guitar and synth energy, and are masters of building up momentum not only through a song, but through the entire album. Restructuration is everything you could hope for and more if you’ve been enjoying their live dates over the past few years, and if you haven’t had the pleasure, it will increase your appetite tenfold!
