Shadow Project

Shadow Project was Rozz Williams' and Eva O's project after Christian Death. The name comes from experiments the government conducted after finding that peoples shadows were burned into objects after being exposed to nuclear radiation in Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of World War II.

Shadow project was not a "gothic" band, although many people try to categorize it as such, because Rozz Williams imagery, musical, and vocal style are dark and forebodding, conjuring images of death and despair. With Shadow Project (1991), Rozz transcended any notions of "gothic" that Christian Death had given him. Ironically, at this point the gothic movement had taken shape, and Valor was desperately attempting to cash in on Christian Death's goth fame, yet drove away most of it's gothic following with Rozz's absence.
